A light at the end of the tunnel?

A recent survey checking the mood of Washington State citizens found that there just might be a lot of "Rightwing Extremists" outside of downtown Seattle. The Department of Homeland Security is probably focusing its search for terrorists in Spokane, since a majority of Seattle-ites have been appropriately brainwashed.

Moore Information surveyed 500 Washington State voters on April 4th and 5th and found 51% of them think things are going in the wrong direction while only 37% think things are going in the right direction (12% are too busy watching "The Cougar" or "American Idol" to give a d*mn). Once you get outside of downtown Seattle the picture changes quite a bit.

In Kitsap, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston counties: 55% wrong direction - 33% right direction.
In other Western Washington Counties: 57% wrong direction - 28% right direction
In Eastern Washington: 61% wrong direction - 33% right direction.

Only in downtown Seattle does one find a majority who think things are going in the right direction: 58 percent right direction, 27 percent wrong direction. And this is the fact that is used by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer website: "Seattle happy where Wash. headed, others not so much."

Is there a light at the end of this massive government tunnel into which America has been shoved? Maybe. This survey gives me some small hope that there may be a change in 2010.

Get Out The Vote!!!

Doing my part on Election Day - Next stop: Starbucks

I just got back from my King County polling place. It’s a gray day in Seattle, but it isn’t raining so I walked the short distance to and from. It was a busy place, but no massive lines. Including the walk it took me less than 45 minutes.

This being King County, I passed numerous Obama signs. Just before I reached the polling place, I smiled as I passed a Dino Rossi sign, the Republican candidate for Washington State Governor.

An interesting incident. I’ve been watching John Adams these past few nights. What did I come across on my ballot? Nothing less than a chance to vote for the John R. Adams, Republican candidate for Insurance Commissioner.

While I was waiting to be told from which table to get my ballot, two UW students came in and told the folks at the door that they were registered in Redmond. "No problem," the Poll Worker said, "you can vote with a Provisional Ballot." And with that, the two students were directed to the table where this was done. I made the comment loud enough for everyone around me to hear, “Just make sure you don’t do this anywhere else.” The students didn't look back. One guy, however, who was in the process of marking his paper ballot looked up and gave me the dirtiest look I’ve received in a long time.

I guess that guy doesn’t have a problem with voter fraud. Must be a Democrat.

God bless America, and God bless John McCain and Sarah Palin.
