Handling Pirates: Dirty Harry vs. Jacque Clouseau

Clouseau"Nope, sorry, no one here has the guts to deal with that."

So this is the World opinion and action to which America should be "seeking to partner with" according to Pres. Obama? God help us all.

Just days after the United States Navy SEALs show the World how to deal with Islamo-Nazi pirates, NATO forces show just how tough they can be in dealing with high seas terrorism. While Dutch forces were able to rescue 20 Yemeni hostages, when it came to dealing out justice to the pirates, it was "no harm, no foul", you can go now.
"The seven Somali pirates who held the Yemenis captive were released despite allegations that they attacked the tanker using assault rifles and grenades. [NATO spokesman Lt. Capt. Alexandre Santos] Fernades is quoted by Sky News as saying that Dutch law does not allow the pirates to be detained at sea in those circumstances."
Which do you think makes sailors feel safer: Shooting dead the pirates that attack your ships or letting them go because some bureaucrat has yet to decide if your country has jurisdiction.

USNavy SEALs free ship's captain, ensure aid delivery to Africa

How many folks do think can answer the questions: What was that ship, captured off the Somolia coast, delivering? What could not get to Somolia because of Islamo-Nazi jihadists? Do you know?

The American flagged ship, which was manned entirely by Americans, was carrying food to feed "hundred of thousands of starving people in Somalia."

How I would have loved to see the headline, "American Navy frees captain and ensures Somolia aid delivery." If Main Stream Media wrote headlines like that instead of headlines like, "Standoff with Somolia pirates shows limits to U.S. power" do you think the world would see America in a slightly different light?

Pirates you won't see on any Disney ride

This is the kind of international cooperation I wholeheartedly endorse.
SAN'A, Yemen - Seven pirates opened fire on a German naval supply ship in the Gulf of Aden but were chased down and captured by an international anti-piracy task force, the U.S. Navy and European officials said Monday.
...
In the attack on the German ship, pirates apparently mistook German FGS Spessart [Mohammad, why is the infidel's panty-waist corporate tanker shooting back?] supply vessel for a commercial ship when they opened fire on it on Sunday afternoon, U.S. Navy 5th Fleet spokesman Lt. Nate Christensen said.

The German sailors returned fire and pursued the skiff while also calling in for support. Several naval ships - including a Greek and a Dutch frigate, a Spanish warship and the USS Boxer - sped to the area while a Spanish marine aircraft and two U.S. Marine Cobra helicopters joined the pursuit.

Five hours later, Greek sailors reached the pirate skiff, boarded it and seized the seven suspects and their weapons, including assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades, the Greek navy said. The suspects were disarmed and transferred for questioning to the German frigate Rheinland-Pfalz where they remain Monday, pending a decision on whether they will be legally prosecuted, Christensen said.

Now about this question on whether or not this scum will be prosecuted ...

Cory Doctorow's warped American history

Doctorow's idea of the American Flag

Little did you know that the growth of a nation rests upon thievery, rape and pillage. That, in Cory Doctorow's rather twisted version of history, is how America became the great nation it is today (presuming he thinks America is a great nation).

In the introduction to his audio story at Subterranean Press's online magazine Doctorow relates the emotional impact hearing his grandmother's stories about life during WWII in Leningrad (St. Petersburg before the long nightmare of Communism). She told him about having to throw bodies from apartment windows because she was too weak to carry them out, about how seeing frozen corpses on street corners, and other horrors during the siege of Leningrad.

And then we get this gem
"My grandmother’s stories found an easy marriage with the contemporary narrative of developing nations being strong-armed into taking on rich-country copyright and patent laws, even where this means letting their citizens die by the millions for lack of AIDS drugs, destroying their education system, or punishing local artists to preserve imported, expensive culture.

"The USA was a pirate nation for the first 100 years of its existence, ripping off the patents and trademarks of the imperial European powers it had liberated itself from with blood. By keeping their GDP at home, the US revolutionaries were able to bootstrap their nation into an industrial powerhouse. Now, it seems, their descendants are bent on ensuring that no other country can pull the same trick off."

In one fell swoop, Doctorow equates the American "contemporary narrative" with the Nazi Siege of Leningrad and turns America's founding Fathers into pirates.

Pathetic.
