UPDATE: An earlier version of this post contained a typo that incorrectly characterized the plaintiff's condition. That typo has been fixed.
A man is down on the side of the road, bleeding and he can't move. If you are just Joe or Jane Average, you better ignore him and move along or else you better have a good lawyer.
According to the California State Supreme Court
average citizens are not protected by California's Good Samaritan law. Instead these laws, according to the lawyers, were created only to protect healthcare professionals; doctors, nurses, EMTs, etc.
The facts of the case are in dispute, naturally. I just want to address one comment made by the plaintiff's lawyer in the article linked above. This bottom-feeding scum sucker said, regarding his client, who is now confined to a wheelchair, "She is ruined for life."
I think that lawyer and his client should be forced to sit in a room, for an hour, with
Nick Vujicic, and then tell me that she is "ruined for life." Lawyers! Feh!
