Whenever a sitting Senator runs for POTUS, the chattering class talks about how hard it is for a sitting Senator to win, and that no Senator has done it since JFK.
If McCain gets the Republican nomination, which looks likely from my little corner of the Great Northwest, then a sitting Senator will definitely win the White House.
Does anyone know when the last time the Democrat and Republican nominees were both sitting Senators? What might this bode for future American political contests?
Is this the end of the "outsider" challenging the Washington D.C. powers-that-be?
