Out of concern for the reaction of Southerners states are being urged to stop teaching the American Civil War at any point in grades K - 12.
"We just don't think it is necessary to contradict what a current or former resident of Virginia or Georgia, or some other state that supported the seperatist movement in America, might be hearing at home," stated one education bureaucrat who wished to remain nameless.
Some schools are going so far as to eliminate from their curriculum any discussion of Slavery, out of concern for the "inordinate amount of stress and anxiety" it may cause among some whites. In many schools history classes are now being replaced with the study of Feng Shui, herbalism and non-religiously inspired meditation.
One principal in a San Francisco area High School noted, "Now that we've eliminated history from our coursework, we find many more students interested in fighting global warming and stopping all wars through peaceful non-violence and mass meditation. Our students are so much better off now then when they were bogged down with useless information about wars and other kinds of yucky violence."

Hey, if British government run schools
are going to stop teaching the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims, shouldn't we do the same with our controversial subjects. Perhaps we should stop talking about the internment
of some Japanese, Italians and Germans during WWII.
Wouldn't want to offend anyone now would we?
